Chris Gilpin
Chris is a spoken word performer, videographer, and arts educator living in Vancouver, Canada. He is a two-time member of the Vancouver Poetry Slam Team (2008 & 2009), the champion of Vancouver’s 2008 Haiku Death Match, and winner of Vancouver’s 2009 CBC Poetry Face-off. His literary work has been published in Geist, PRISM international, CV2, Poetry Is Dead, Vancouver Review, 42opus, and many others. He is the Spoken Word scene correspondent for the Canadian Review of Literature in Performance, which recently published part one of his history of the Vancouver Poetry Slam (covering 1996–2001). He works as Program Coordinator of WordPlay, Poetry in Schools, run by Vancouver Poetry House, and as Onsite Program Facilitator for the Animating History program as the Museum of Vancouver.
