Melanie Siebert

Melanie Siebert first book, Deepwater Vee, was a finalist for the 2010 Governor General’s Literary Award for Poetry. This collection charts some of Canada’s most threatened rivers—places both altered and untamed. Melanie recently completed an MFA at the University of Victoria and was awarded the Lieutenant Governor’s Medal for best master’s thesis. For more than ten years, she has worked as a guide on wilderness rivers across the north from Alaska to Nunavut.
